In yet another record breaking achievement, Dansol High school, Agidimmgbi, Lagos in partnership with an ICT training institute, New Horizons Systems Solutions Ltd, last week presented two pupils from the Nursery Primary levels of the School , who become young Microsoft certified professional after passing the Microsoft Professional Examination.
The two pupils are Tamilore Adekunle Bello, 8, who scored overall 1000 and Mayowa Oluremi, 9, who also scored 940 over 1000 during the last MCP examination. At the formal presentation of the pupils at the Dansol premises in Lagos, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), New Horizons Systems Solutions Ltd Mr. Tim Akano, saluted the two wizkids for their outstanding performance and described them as icons of present ICT in the modern world.
He expressed delight that the kids started at very tender ages, like Bill Gates who commenced Microsoft business at the age of 13 and also Apple's Steve Job who started his own trade at the age of 19, and Google Boys too that started at the age of 19 before they all came to limelight.
"Obviously it can be summarised that at this age brackets, youths tend to learn faster and achieve greater results," he said.
Akano said that was one of the reasons why New Horizons decided to take its training to young Nigerians that are still in schools through partnership with school owners using an intensive IT training programme. He added: "my ordeal while studying abroad has made me committed most percentage of my income to train young children in Nigeria that would make us proud and change the negative perception of international community, just as Bill Gates dedicated 99 per cent of his income to young children". "The programme offered the kind of IT training that would challenge students into creativity and designing of things by themselves. It is the richness and intensiveness of the training package that endeared discerning private schools in Lagos and other states to embrace the ICT Partnership programme." Meanwhile, the Director and proprietress of Dansol, Mrs. Adun Akinyemiju , was happy with the performance of the children and thanked New Horizons for partnering with the school, adding that the collaboration with Dansol has produced two youngest Microsoft Certified Professional.

She added: "this achievement for these two pupils means there are gift, talent and potential in the life of young children and all we need to do is to expose them to training and when they are well trained, the good things will show forth and the capabilities in them will show forth since they know what they can achieve by working hard at early age they have identified and I believe they will keep working hard and ideas will keep to them".
She advised parents to also work hard, cooperate with schools to ensure that the best comes out of their children, just like the parents of the two youngest Microsoft Certified Professional cooperated with Dansol school and parents should also understand their children by helping them to develop the gift, talent, potential capabilities they have in them. She urged government to implement policy that would encourage technological education so that children will embrace technology in their various schools.(vanguardngr.com)
